How do we measure microplastics?

We collect water samples at multiple sites along the St. Johns River, filter them through specialized nets and sieves, and examine the captured particles under magnification. Each piece is counted and categorized by type, size, and color.

Who can get involved?

Everyone. We have tailored resources for kids, teens, and adults. Whether you want to volunteer at a cleanup, share on social media, or contact local officials, there is a role for you.

Where does the data go?

All verified cleanup submissions and survey data are stored securely in our database and may be used in public reports, educational materials, and advocacy efforts to protect the St. Johns River.
